Accounting and Transaction Advisory Senior Manager (Bilingual FR / EN)

Join PwC Canada as an Accounting and Transaction Advisory Senior Manager (Bilingual FR / EN).

About the role

The Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services team (“CMAAS”) at PwC supports clients through significant changes by providing accounting advisory services, including advice on acquisitions, divestitures, accounting changes, ESG reporting, restructuring, capital transactions like IPOs, and digital transformation projects. This role involves handling complex financial reporting issues related to deals and transformational events, with extensive interaction with senior management, bankers, lawyers, and advisers.

Key responsibilities

  1. Lead teams and clients through capital market transactions and accounting change projects, including GAAP conversions, policy changes, and ESG reporting.
  2. Support Deals teams with accounting implications of transactions such as buy-side, sell-side, valuations, business combinations, and divestitures.
  3. Manage project teams in preparing or reviewing accounting whitepapers, reports, complex calculations, financial statements, and management reports.
  4. Develop project plans tailored to client needs and oversee their execution.
  5. Mentor team members, fostering their development and ownership of their work.
  6. Respond to client requests promptly and ensure high-quality project delivery.
  7. Contribute to the growth of CMAAS through strategic thinking and client engagement.
  8. Uphold PwC’s ethics and business conduct standards.

Qualifications and skills

  • Experience managing teams in financial accounting, reporting, deals, or public company audits.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in complex situations.
  • Qualified Canadian CPA or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and ASPE.
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks (beneficial).
  • Ability to build client relationships and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a tech-savvy mindset.
  • Analytical, problem-solving skills, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple engagements.
  • Fluency in English and French, supporting bilingual client and team interactions.
