Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Speech-Language Pathologist provides assessment of assigned clients and develops and implements individual and group speech language pathology therapy programs. The Speech-Language Pathologist is accountable for maintaining the Standards of Practice and Ethics of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario. The role includes providing clinical education and experience for allied health students, participating in formal teaching and research in conjunction with Queen’s University or other approved educational institutions. As a member of the clinical team, the Speech-Language Pathologist will engage in discipline-specific and inter-professional activities aimed at a client-centered environment, contributing to quality, operational efficiency, professional, and program development.

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
  • Experience in the specified area of practice preferred
  • Experience in student supervision is an asset
Role Responsibilities
  • Participate in speech-language pathology education for clients, families, and caregivers
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations
  • Identify and implement treatment plans to achieve client goals
  • Communicate effectively with clients and all stakeholders regarding plans of care and progress
  • Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating speech-language programs and service delivery systems
  • Engage in day-to-day decision-making and solutions regarding client care with the inter-professional team
