This position reports to

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

The IS Applications Specialist delivers essential IT technical support to the ABB Westville plant and its staff. Responsibilities include diagnosing, documenting, and resolving technical issues to ensure smooth operation of networks, systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. The specialist will work daily with end users across various departments at ABB Westville. The work model for the role is: Onsite. #LI-Onsite

This role contributes to the NEMA Motors Division in Westville, OK. Main accountabilities include:

  1. Configuring and deploying desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals, managing network equipment, virtual & physical servers, and data backups.
  2. Providing technical support for hardware, software, network systems, and ERP System.
  3. Collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance on improvement initiatives and technical documentation, leading user training.
  4. Advising on software and hardware upgrades for business continuity, enhancing employee experience, and coordinating third-party tool installations and optimizations.
  5. Providing exceptional customer service by actively listening to employee needs, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring a positive experience.
  6. Supervising and mentoring the IT assistant.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's / Associate's Degree (Preferred) with experience supporting and troubleshooting systems, applications, software, and hardware OR High School Diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with end users and resolve problems with flexibility and motivation, in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office, servers, networks, and applications.
  • Preferred experience includes SAP or similar ERP systems, Helpdesk, IS Support, Java, C#, SQL, Python, PowerBI, AI/ML frameworks, ABAP, WorkDay, Application Installation.
  • Must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
