General Summary

The Electrician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical & mechanical issues in a distribution center equipped with high-speed automated conveyor systems. Responsibilities include regular building preventive maintenance and repair, ensuring product safety, quality, and legality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on conveyor systems.
• Maintain documentation related to the CMMS and PM programs.
• Set up and maintain machinery to meet safety standards.
• Complete preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with maintenance team members and internal customers.
• Troubleshoot equipment using schematics, manuals, and specifications.
• Inspect equipment for irregularities and malfunctions.
• Respond to trouble calls and assist with incoming shipments of parts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist Millwrights with repairs and PMs.
• Understand conveyor, carton-sorting, and mobile equipment systems.
• Diagnose and repair based on testing procedures.
• Repair pallet racks, pick modules, dock components, and materials handling equipment.
• Participate in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling work.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Tradesperson, Interprovincial Red Seal, or Duel Ticketed Electrician/Millwright preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; 4+ years of mechanical/electrical maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, carton sorting, and mobile equipment.
• Good attendance and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of fire protection, electrical distribution, and industrial electronics.
• PLC knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work at heights (up to 15m).

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

Must follow policies and procedures, read/write/interpret information, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with full range of motion and visual acuity.
