NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
This full-time position is available for 12 months starting August 25.
Adult dermatology services in Greater Glasgow and Clyde are delivered by the Directorate of Dermatology at the Alan Lyell Centre, operating on a hub and spoke model. The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital hosts some specialized and tertiary services, serving approximately 1.5 million people in the West of Scotland.
Services are provided across eight hospital sites, including Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Stobhill Hospital, Vale of Leven Hospital, Victoria Ambulatory Care Hospital, and West Glasgow ACH, each offering outpatient dermatology services.
The dermatology team comprises Consultants, Specialty Doctors, GP Clinical Assistants, and specialist dermatology nurses. The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital serves as the hub for subspecialty clinics and the tertiary inpatient unit.
Applicants with previous dermatology experience are encouraged to apply; there is no limit on the amount of prior training experience.
Candidates should possess MRCP (UK) or equivalent, or have completed GP training. Duties will be based at the Alan Lyell Dermatology Centre within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. National terms and conditions of service apply. To practice medicine in the UK, GMC registration and a license to practice are required.

Applicants who have not completed a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the post start date will need to submit a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST), completed by a consultant who has worked with the applicant for at least three months within the last 3.5 years.
