These posts are available from August 2025, based at the Glasgow Renal and Transplant Unit at the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. The initial contract is for 6 months (7th August 2025 - 4th February 2026). This is an excellent opportunity to develop or enhance your clinical experience in nephrology, haemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis, with additional exposure to renal transplantation care.
The Renal Unit supports approximately 600 haemodialysis patients, 50 peritoneal dialysis patients, 900 renal transplant patients, and over 200 patients annually with acute kidney injury requiring renal replacement therapy. About 150 renal transplants are performed each year. All inpatient renal services are based in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, which features 50 dedicated nephrology beds, 15 renal transplant/surgery beds, along with a day area and renal assessment facilities.
Successful candidates will join a friendly and motivated team, participating in the renal on-call rota with an appropriate banding supplement. Prior nephrology experience and MRCP are preferred but not essential.
