Position Summary :

Are you good with your hands and have a knack for all things technical? Join Johnston Equipment as a Road Service Technician.

As the Road Service Technician, you will conduct maintenance checks and repairs for lift trucks and carousels at customer sites, providing consistent service and technical knowledge to our customers.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You will be responsible for the overall operational integrity and condition of internal combustion or diesel trucks with the following responsibilities:

1. Examine the overall operational integrity and condition of the trucks.
2. Diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical parts, then communicate and execute next steps for repair solutions to the customer.
3. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
4. Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals.
5. Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures.
6. As a technician, you are the front-line contact between GNJ and the customer, so you should be comfortable with client contact as well as being technically savvy.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience.
• Ability to perform duties in inclement weather, with exposure to severe weather conditions.
• Truck and Coach 310T Certification or Heavy Duty Technician Certification.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine-powered material handling equipment.
• Proficiency with hand tools, measuring devices, and electrical/electronic diagnostic tools.
• Experience with industrial equipment involving lifting, rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
• Ability to interpret and implement technical procedures.
• Solid knowledge of lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer service orientation.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
