Position Overview

The Senior Contract Management Specialist in Global Site Contracting / Clinical Development Operations is responsible for ensuring the timely and appropriate execution of various clinical agreements, including Study Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and others related to site management. The role involves collaboration with R&D teams, legal, finance, and external partners to draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts within agreed timelines and compliance standards. The SSCM serves as a contract management expert in the Americas, mentoring colleagues and leading process improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation and execution of clinical study agreements, budgets, and vendor agreements, acting as the point of contact for assigned regions.
  • Negotiate contracts with investigator sites, utilizing templates and guidance, and liaising with legal for approval of modifications.
  • Contribute to updating legal and budget templates and playbooks.
  • Track and document contracts and related information per company requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize and communicate contract issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives within the contract management function.
  • Demonstrate high competency in contract management, negotiation, and critical thinking.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, managing workload distribution as needed.
  • Partner with country managers to ensure effective contract management and issue resolution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in healthcare, business, legal, or scientific fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in clinical research, contracts, or budgeting, with knowledge of compliance and regulation.
  • Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local language, if applicable.
  • Proactive team player capable of maintaining performance during change.
  • Experience in management and financial analysis is advantageous.
