Hours of Work: Scheduled 12-hour shifts based on a 24/7 operating environment

Reporting to the NWSCC Communications & Electronics Supervisor, the NWSCC Facilities Crew Technician is responsible for monitoring the status of and remotely controlling NWS site equipment, including but not limited to power generation, electrical distribution, HVAC systems, water & sewage systems, intrusion alarms, fire alarm/suppression systems, helicopter monitor, and SCADA systems in a 7x24 shift environment.
Education: Completion of a postsecondary program in electromechanical systems or CF military equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of five years of on-the-job training in a commercial or industrial setting.
Knowledge of: Building electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and structural systems; reading and interpreting related drawings and manuals; proficiency with troubleshooting tools.
Desired Skills and Experience: Strong communication, analytical, organizational, decision-making skills; ability to work independently; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Maximo; customer service orientation; excellent communication skills; ability to meet shift work requirements; security clearance eligibility.
