Asbestos Laboratory

Dartmouth, NS

Pinchin Ltd. is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing engineering, building sciences, geosciences, environmental, and occupational health and safety solutions across Canada. We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.

We are seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join the Asbestos Laboratory Group in our Dartmouth office. The Laboratory Analyst will be responsible for providing lab analysis to Pinchin.

Laboratory Analyst Responsibilities
  1. Perform analysis of building materials and insulation samples for asbestos content by Polarized Light Microscopy.
  2. Enter data and prepare reports.
  3. Ensure quality control of samples from both internal and external sources.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • A diploma or university degree in a related discipline.
  • A strong background in laboratory procedures and microscopy.
  • The ability to differentiate the full spectrum of visible colours.
  • Knowledge of Polarized Light Microscopy and Optical Mineralogy is an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is an asset.
  • Attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
