Duties and Responsibilities :

• Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience.
• Assist in directing and supervising all front-end staff to secure efficient and courteous customer service.
• Manage and schedule the department in the absence of the Customer Service Manager.
• Support the Customer Service Manager in performance management of unionized employees.
• Complete weekly and monthly recaps to review with the Customer Service Manager and Franchisee.
• Ensure completion and follow-up on produce tests as required.
• Ensure compliance with company and legislative requirements related to lottery sales, cashier audits, PCI, etc.
• Maintain accurate data and complete reports from Swedamart.
• Reconcile, investigate, and address concerns related to cash and lottery sales overs and shorts.
• Assist in processing and balancing all tender types following company policies.
• Update and maintain accurate information in computerized registers.
• Operate a cash register and serve customers courteously.
• Resolve customer and employee complaints or issues when in charge of the department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess :

• Minimum of 3 years’ cashier experience in a retail grocery environment.
• Office and management experience is an asset.
• Flexibility to work various hours including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
