Apex Aluminum is a state-of-the-art aluminum extrusion factory located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. With a 170,000 square foot aluminum extrusion facility and some of the most modern equipment in its industry, Apex can offer custom extrusions, mill finish aluminum, and anodized aluminum to satisfy the most demanding customer and all architectural needs.

We are seeking a AutoCAD Drafter. Working closely with Estimators, Customer Service, Quality, and Die Manager, you will be responsible for drafting and production support tasks. This position reports to the Manager of Customer Experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings to design complex approval dies.
• Collaborate with the design team to analyze and resolve design issues.
• Lead, develop, and grow the drafting team.
• Create drawings using Aluminum Standard Tolerance Table with accuracy.
• Prepare packaging and fabrication drawings; facilitate packaging meetings for improvements.
• Update die information accurately in ERP system.
• Coordinate with die suppliers and department to place purchase orders.
• Incorporate drawing corrections from internal and external customers with minimal supervision.
• Work with sales and quotations team to ensure drawings meet lead times.
• Provide AutoCAD support for fabrication and packaging departments.
• Maintain and audit files and records.
• This is a full-time office position.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• AutoCAD certification and extensive experience in engineering drawings.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering preferred.
• Proficient in MS Windows, MS Office, and general computer skills.
• Leadership and training experience.
• ERP software experience.
• At least 2 years’ drafting experience with Aluminum Curtainwall, Storefront, and exterior panels systems.
• Experience in aluminum extrusion, glass, or construction industry is an asset.
