Job description

Uniti Group Inc. ("Company") is searching for a Revenue Accountant. This individual will be a key player in all issues related to the Accounting, Reporting, & Analysis within the Revenue Cycle in a fast-growing Uniti Leasing segment. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of revenue systems/processes. The Revenue Accounting is responsible for supporting various revenue-related functions including contract management, general ledger accounting, billing, and collections functions. They will report to the Revenue Accounting Manager and work closely with other key business functions outside Accounting.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Support the revenue close process and ensure the accurate recording of revenue on a monthly and quarterly basis in compliance with Company policies and U.S. GAAP. Includes preparing revenue amortization schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations.

  • Develop familiarity of customer contractual leasing arrangements and practical application to inquiries, etc.

  • Support billing, cash application, and collections efforts including communication with customers regarding billing inquiries and delinquent account balances.

  • Maintain and update internal control documentation and support audits of related controls.

  • Support the external audit and quarterly/annual SEC filing by timely submission of PBC schedules and reporting packages and pro-active partnership with the audit team.

  • Partner with various departments including (but not limited to) General Ledger, FP&A, and Operations to complete responsibilities.

  • Support special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements.


Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of three (2) years' experience that demonstrates knowledge of general accounting, specific experience with revenue processes ideal but not required.

  • Possess a basic working knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 842

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience working with financial accounting systems and/or Salesforce is preferred.

  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills; communicates effectively with various contacts (internal functions as well as external contacts like customers)

  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to design and utilize effective spreadsheets

  • Ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, work independently, and deliver results in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Must display strong analytical and organizational skills and have the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies with positive business results

  • Must have a strong work ethic and a high level of confidentiality to ensure proper handling of sensitive information

  • Ability to travel infrequently (up to 10%)

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
