The Special Projects Manager (SPM) reports to the Executive Director, Operations & Administration in the School of Continuing Studies. The SPM is expected to provide guidance and coordination to several large-scale technology projects and to the School's project to construct a new building. The SPM will provide professional project management and analytical expertise in support of all phases of both projects, including oversight, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and successful completion consistent with the organizational and business goals of the School of Continuing Studies.

Education :

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Business, Computer Science, Engineering).

Experience :

Proven ability to oversee the overall development and implementation of large-scale IT projects, including leading project teams both in a physical and virtual team environment.

Skills :

• Proven IT project management skills including research, planning, and organizational skills, budget preparation.
• Knowledge and understanding of ERP, CRM, e-business, open source, and custom applications.
• Ability to identify and make recommendations for additional resources and take all steps to ensure that appropriate resource levels are maintained throughout the project life cycle.
• Ability to work under pressure of high volume and expectation while meeting multiple deadlines for multiple projects.
• Strong service orientation coupled with an ability to recognize and assess the operational significance of a problem, control / mitigate the risk, and set priorities accordingly.
• Exceptional analytical, evaluative, and technical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent research, presentation, and report writing skills.
• Strong ability and willingness to work effectively as a team leader and team member.
