Job description

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to environmental assessments (EAs) for projects such as oil and gas pipelines, facilities, transmission lines, and roads.
  • Coordinate environmental regulatory permit applications and support environmental management planning.
  • Develop and coordinate public and agency consultation programs.
  • Liaise with private sector clients.
  • Assist in business development activities, including proposal preparation and presentations.

Qualifications
  • Degree in environmental studies, planning, geography, or related fields with strong interest in environmental assessment.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in consulting; open to new graduates.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication, report writing, organization, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
Experience
  • Experience and interest in provincial and federal environmental assessments, especially for utility and linear projects.
  • Understanding of Canadian EA methods, requirements, and legislation, including the Impact Assessment Act, Canada Energy Regulator Act, and Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

Familiarity with environmental policy, legislation, and regulatory processes is preferred. Demonstrated teamwork, detail orientation, and technical report writing skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Reader is required. Experience with socio-economic and GBA+ impact assessments is an asset.
