As Director of Client Services, you are the bridge between agency growth and client success—leading our Account Directors to strengthen partnerships, maximize revenue, and elevate the quality of work we deliver.
This is a Calgary-based role.
Your Role at WJ
- Lead, mentor, and empower the Account Director team
- Drive client retention, growth, and contract renewals
- Oversee high-value client relationships and escalations
- Ensure client strategies align with WJ’s creative and strategic capabilities
- Optimize processes for efficiency, collaboration, and profitability
- Work cross-functionally with Strategy, Creative, Digital, and Production teams
Your Focus Areas
Client Growth & Retention
- Build and deepen relationships with key clients
- Act as a strategic advisor to key clients, ensuring long-term partnerships and meeting their goals and objectives
- Help ensure client success and satisfaction
- Identify and execute growth opportunities within accounts
- Oversee client satisfaction, renewal strategies, and escalation management
Revenue & Profitability
- Manage and grow a large and diverse client portfolio
- Maintain oversight of pricing, scope creep, and contract structuring
- Motivate and drive performance within the Account Director team
- Guide and develop a high-performing client services team
- Align client needs with agency capabilities to deliver exceptional work
- Work closely with Business Development and Accounts to ensure new clients and projects for existing clients are effectively transitioned from sales to active accounts

- A client-focused, revenue-driven leader with a track record of growth
- A strategic thinker who excels at building and maintaining high-value relationships
- Experienced in leadership, sales, and contract negotiation
- A natural collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment
What You Bring
- 10+ years in client services, account management, or agency leadership (marketing, branding, or advertising preferred)
- Proven track record managing multi-million-dollar client portfolios
- Experience leading and mentoring Account Directors
- Strong expertise in marketing strategy, brand development, and integrated campaigns
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
