Flex-N-Gate Quality Manager Job Description

Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 10th among the Top 150 North American Suppliers in "Automotive News." As a growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate offers excellent opportunities for hardworking and skilled individuals.

The Quality Manager oversees the quality department, implements and maintains quality management and document control systems, drives continuous improvement activities, and supports plant-wide quality initiatives. The role involves leading Corrective Action Plan development, implementation, and follow-up on quality issues.

Job Duties
  1. Evaluate and develop improved techniques for quality and reliability control.
  2. Collaborate with Process Engineering on process and engineering changes.
  3. Support prototype builds, data collection, and reporting.
  4. Design and implement data collection, maintenance, and analysis systems.
  5. Identify problems, review information, evaluate options, and implement solutions.
  6. Ensure production meets quality specifications.
  7. Provide onsite support to customers and suppliers as needed.
  8. Document all activities as required.
  9. Maintain compliance with company guidelines, union contracts, international quality standards (ISO, IATF), and government regulations.
  10. Manage awareness, understanding, and responsibilities related to the Quality Management Systems Manual.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a broad quality background.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource management, leadership, production methods, and team coordination.
  • Customer-focused with a focus on quality standards and satisfaction.
  • Understanding of mathematics, statistics, and their applications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and team-oriented.
  • Supervisory, troubleshooting, decision-making, and presentation skills.
