Qualifications

Through the collaborative efforts of Peel Human Trafficking Service Provider Committee (PHTSPC) and the Region of Peel, Peel has opened an integrated service HUB for victims and survivors of sexual exploitation. The goal is to improve access to services and supports for victims and survivors in one safe location.

MISSION

We are partnering with our client to find a Client Navigator who will work directly with clients and community service providers to support the needs of the collaborative. The incumbent will establish and maintain relationships with service partners and referral sources.

The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a compassionate and resourceful individual to join a collaborative dedicated to improving the lives of people impacted by sexual exploitation through community services and support, fulfilling the role of the Client Navigator.

PRIORITIES

  • Complete intake and assessment to determine client needs and interests.
  • Support the implementation of next steps for care.
  • Maintain accurate records and client case files related to the caseload, using the designated database.
  • Conduct trauma-informed risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Assist in identifying client needs and relevant referrals to on-site and off-site partners, in coordination with case managers.
  • Coordinate with case managers to support the continuum of care and access to services.
  • Develop and coordinate the onsite calendar of services for clients.
  • Support the intake process for community service providers and promote awareness of the hub's services.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person outreach activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

TALENTS & EXPERTISE

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related human service field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience working with victims of human trafficking.
  • Knowledge of human trafficking, gender-based violence, and trauma-informed care.
  • Understanding of counseling, social work, and case management principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, community providers, and clients.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in French or other languages is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with database management.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check, valid CPI/UMAB, First Aid/CPR certifications.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable exemptions.
