Zurich Canada is currently seeking a sustainability subject matter expert with a blend of engineering expertise and underwriting acumen, complemented by strong project management and risk assessment skills.

Reporting to the Head of Property Lines, you will develop and implement sustainability engagement plans, manage complex projects, and evaluate risks related to new technologies and infrastructure development. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of financial governance across multiple jurisdictions and the ability to interpret and respond to human behavioral cues effectively.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Master of Engineering (with Elite Certificate)
  • Relevant professional memberships (such as the Institution of Civil Engineers), certifications, or advanced degrees are highly desirable
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Emotional and situational intelligence
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Preferred:
  • Additional languages beyond English
  • International work experience, including in financial services
  • Experience with International Organizations or Private Equity
  • Current or aspiring M.Eng. student with relevant work experience
