Job Responsibilities:
- Streamline and manage the operating model of the portfolio management system, including daily, quarterly, and annual tasks, ad hoc requests, and issue resolution.
- Ensure functional requirements are understood, documented, and correctly considered during implementation.
- Create and maintain product documentation to support the firm.
- Capture epics and user stories within JIRA.
- Analyze new business requests and support team effort estimations.
- Conduct business and technical analyses.
- Support testing activities and advise business stakeholders on relevant issues.
- Manage product, vendor, and business knowledge for the key portfolio management system.
Job Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in a similar role (business analysis, business engineering, requirements engineering) within the financial industry.
- Deep expertise in finance, financial products, Canadian regulatory frameworks, portfolio management, and advisory processes. Experience with mutual funds processes is advantageous.
- Good understanding of software development processes; experience as a developer is preferable.
- Hands-on UML experience with the ability to model domain models or visualize dynamic flows; familiarity with enterprise architecture is a plus.
- Practical SQL skills for data analysis, if required.
- Understanding of portfolio theory and portfolio management processes.
- Proficiency with various business analysis tools (use case modeling, business rule writing, user story writing, state diagrams, flow diagrams, etc.).
- Proficiency with systems such as APX (SS&C), LatentZero (IoN or Fidessa), and Pricing systems.
