Responsibilities
  • Provide Cargo customer services to the public, other airlines, agencies, and Company employees as prescribed by the Company.
  • Handle inquiries from the public, other airlines, agencies, and Company employees.
  • Receive, deliver, and process cargo, mail, and COMAT.
  • Physically handle Cargo / Mail / COMAT manually or using machinery (e.g., forklift).
  • Pick up or deliver aircraft spare parts from other carriers, and sign receipts.
  • Drive Company vehicles.
  • Compute cargo rates and tariffs, book shipments, and provide relevant information including Customs requirements.
  • Handle cash and documents according to Company regulations.
  • Process information using the Company's automated cargo tracking and accounting system.
  • Manage Hazardous / Restricted material shipments following regulations.
  • In the absence of the Manager or Lead Customer Service Agent, make operational decisions to ensure efficiency and protect Company interests.
  • Communicate changes in rules, methods, or procedures to staff.
  • Ensure sufficient supplies and materials are available.
  • Collect and analyze statistical data.
  • Investigate damaged or incomplete shipments and complete reports as needed.
Qualifications
  • Use tact, good judgment, and initiative effectively.
  • Express oneself clearly and pleasantly.
  • Work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Be trained to use the Company's cargo tracking and accounting system.
  • Wear the prescribed uniform and conform to grooming standards.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Operate Company vehicles and machinery.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 70 lbs unaided.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance.
  • Possess a valid passport for training in Canada.
  • Have necessary customs seals and security clearances.
Specific Requirements
  • Wear safety shoes while on duty.
  • Use hearing protection in designated high-noise areas.

Safety is a priority at Air Canada. All employees must refrain from being impaired by substances while on duty. Candidates will be subject to drug testing.

Linguistic Requirements

Preference will be given to bilingual candidates based on qualifications.
