Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Commercial Director to join our Mobility Business Unit in Western Canada. This role will be major project/program based, working closely with the Project Director to provide leadership in cost and commercial management to high-profile projects.
This role sits within our Mobility Global Business Unit. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization, and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing advice and support at all stages from inception to completion. You will collaborate with project teams (e.g., Commercial, Change Management, Operational, Technical Staff, Planning Teams) on all commercial matters. You will mentor and guide junior team members on contract management and claims best practices, leveraging expertise in CCDC, FIDIC, or other standard forms of contracts to ensure compliance and project success. You will effectively and proactively manage all commercial matters, including administering head contracts, conducting monthly cost and value analysis and reporting (client and business), project communications, project controls and monitoring (CPI/EV), administering sub-consultancy agreements, payments, invoicing, reviewing and preparing claims—from notice to resolution, including record keeping, establishing entitlement, validating data, demonstrating costs, measuring, quantifying, negotiating, and managing disputes. You will also prepare briefing notes for commercial, counsel, and management.
Additionally, you will actively contribute to and provide leadership in commercial management within the Performance Excellence Group. You will manage contract claims proactively, initiate and defend claims where appropriate, and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize disputes. You will engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

The salary range for this position is $114,590 - $212,810, based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
