PHASOR Engineering Inc. Job Description

PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta-based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing/commissioning of medium to high voltage electrical facilities. We focus on providing cost-effective and efficient power system engineering solutions, involved in diverse projects from preliminary engineering to commissioning and startup.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Lead Commissioning Engineer / Commissioning Manager to join our field services team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and skilled problem-solver with strong attention to detail. We offer a dynamic work environment that challenges you in all aspects of testing and commissioning.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team in testing and commissioning of power system protection & control schemes in utility, power generation, and oil & gas industries.
  2. Read and interpret drawings; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  3. Manage direct reports and delegate tasks as necessary.
  4. Prepare and submit reports.
  5. Assist in generating commissioning startup procedures or work instructions.
  6. Ensure compliance with safety practices per corporate, client, and industry standards.
  7. Initiate and respond to customer inquiries, discuss trouble details, and confirm resolutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute.
  • 4+ years of experience leading a commissioning team in the electrical utilities industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with extreme attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work out of town for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Background checks and drug/alcohol testing will be required.
Requirements:
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada; VISA sponsorship is not available.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Availability for extended out-of-town work.
Additional Information:
  • Typical shifts include 4/3, 8/6, 10/4, and 14/7 schedules.
  • Working hours generally from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, 10 hours/day.
  • Shift times may vary based on project needs; flexibility is required.
