Are you a Senior Commissioning Consultant ready to join our Building Performance team, based out of our Calgary offices? This is a senior position requiring 10+ years of experience in building systems.

Reporting to the Building Performance manager, this role involves executing work on new and existing building projects. What you will do at WSP

  • Lead within the commissioning team, providing technical guidance and mentorship;
  • Develop client relationships and proposals to grow the project portfolio;
  • Participate in projects to improve building functionality and performance;
  • Manage project deliverables such as design reviews, verification procedures, and reports;
  • Support owners, designers, and builders in achieving high-performance building goals (LEED, Net Zero, Carbon Neutral);
  • Conduct site visits, review installations, and prepare reports to enhance system efficiency and longevity;
  • Work primarily in Alberta, with occasional travel to other regions;
  • Coordinate with technical leaders on commissioning, energy audits, and retro-commissioning;
  • Apply Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices;
  • Contribute to process and template improvements within the organization;
  • Perform other duties as required.

What you bring to WSP

  • Proven ability to work successfully with small teams and maintain client relationships;
  • Excellent communication skills, both virtual and in writing;
  • 10+ years of relevant experience;
  • Journeyman Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Automation Technician certification;
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Systems Engineering, or related field;
  • Knowledge of building systems performance, operations, and design;
  • Professional designation (CET, P.Tech., E.I.T, P.Eng.) is preferred;
  • Relevant certifications (LEED AP, CCP, CxA, CEM, CMVP) are valued;
  • Experience in design, construction, or project management on major projects;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
