Job Title: Food and Beverage Assistant Manager

Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage Operations

Departments: Food & Beverage

General Description:

The Food and Beverage Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in planning and overseeing all venues in the Food and Beverage department at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park (CSBP). This position supervises all aspects of CSBP operations, maintaining profitable restaurants and outlets, and ensuring high-quality products and service levels that deliver exceptional guest experiences. This department includes the Cliffhouse Restaurant, Beary Waffle, Logger’s Grill, and the Cabin.


What you’ll do:
  1. Assist the F&B Manager in all aspects of CSBP F&B operations.
  2. Model and manage effective supervision of all F&B venues to drive sales while maintaining exceptional guest service and CSBP standards.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  4. Lead and participate in recruitment and training of all F&B team members, ensuring they are trained for success, including standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
  5. Maintain high levels of internal and external customer service, addressing guest concerns and needs.
  6. Showcase product knowledge through upselling and presentation, ensuring displays are clean and tidy.
  7. Assist in establishing a departmental recognition program and promote existing CSBP recognition initiatives.
  8. Create a fun and rewarding team culture, providing opportunities for growth and performance feedback.
  9. Hold daily briefings with supervisors and team members to maintain communication and set goals.
  10. Ensure smooth service execution, including hands-on involvement during service hours.
  11. Manage scheduling to ensure maximum coverage, working within budget constraints.
  12. Recognize and reward team performance, aligning with CSBP’s high-performance vision.
  13. Coordinate food and beverage deliveries, verifying quality and quantity.
  14. Implement and maintain proper accounting controls.
  15. Ensure high-quality F&B offerings and adherence to Food Safe practices and safety standards.
  16. Maintain accuracy and timeliness of food orders through the Quick Serve team system.
  17. Investigate and resolve complaints related to F&B quality and service.
  18. Prioritize safety for all team members and guests.
  19. Support other Capilano Group locations as needed.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
  • At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Completion (or in progress) of a University or College degree in Tourism/Hospitality Management or a related field is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems.
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification.
  • Serving it Right certification.
  • First Aid Level 1 certification or willingness to train.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Availability to work flexible shifts to meet business needs.
  • Vacation planning must consider business requirements.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders or stools.

Salary: $54,000 per annum plus benefits.
