Job description

Assists with scheduling and supervision of Store Support Team Members, as well as managing the day-to-day flow of the department. Supports the Store Support Team Leader and Associate Team Leader(s) to ensure smooth operation of the team. All Whole Foods Market retail jobs require providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members, maintaining a positive company image. Positions must adhere to team and store Standard Operating Procedures and be capable of performing duties across various roles. Employees should support WFM core values, promote programs and initiatives, and comply with health and safety regulations, including Food Safety and departmental duties.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Supervises and delegates tasks to Team Members.
  2. Works with Team Trainer to develop a high-performance team and reduce turnover.
  3. Assists in training new Team Members using checklists and training materials.
  4. Keeps cases and shelves clean, stocked, and rotated.
  5. Resolves difficult customer situations.
  6. Ensures all necessary breaks are provided.
  7. Communicates team concerns to leadership.
  8. Addresses attendance issues with management.
  9. Maintains high standards of retail execution.
  10. Encourages a positive environment of teamwork, respect, and morale.
  11. Monitors customer flows and directs team members to meet customer needs.
  12. Trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels team members to sustain high performance.
  13. Provides performance evaluations.
  14. Models and communicates WFM vision and goals.
Job Skills
  1. Extensive knowledge of Store Support procedures and policies.
  2. Ability to teach positively and constructively.
  3. Strong product knowledge and awareness of new products.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
  5. Knowledge of regulatory and safety policies.
  6. Proficiency in math for financial and inventory assessment.
  7. Decision-making, leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills.
  8. Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operational applications.
Experience
  • Minimum 12 months retail experience.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift.
  • Use of hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Movements including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Use of tools and heavy machinery such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks.

The wage range is $21.00 - $25.50 hourly, based on experience.
