Job description

VetShield’s CEO has over 30 years of experience in the Veterinary industry, including roles as a veterinarian, team builder, and entrepreneur. Our team specializes in providing business support (consulting services), starting new practices with owners, selling existing veterinary practices, and constructing new state-of-the-art facilities (LEED, WELL, and Net Zero certified, powered by solar and geothermal energy). What does the opportunity look like?

This is a rare opportunity to join a small, growing company with big plans. You will be able to utilize your creative ideas and business development experience. You’ll promote and engage with our collaborative team and clients. You need your own home office setup, including a computer, cell phone, and transportation. Our services include:

  • 60% business consulting for veterinary practices (Marketing, HR, Recruitment, Bookkeeping, Business Optimization)
  • 20% practice sale management
  • 20% construction management and marketing for new partners/tenants

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Finding industry events or networking opportunities to grow VetShield’s business
  2. Driving to veterinary practices throughout Alberta to build relationships and support Practice Owners and Managers
  3. Creating partnerships with complementary businesses
  4. Developing new and creative ways to grow the business with autonomy and team support
  5. Identifying business opportunities and prospecting
  6. Client follow-up, service proposal preparation, and delivery
  7. Maintaining sales initiatives in our CRM
  8. Supporting and collaborating on consulting services
  9. Assessing veterinary practice needs and implementing solutions
  10. Attending company events and supporting team activities (career fairs, trade shows, seminars, lunch and learns)
What are we looking for?
  • At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare industry; veterinary experience preferred
  • Strong relationships with Practice Owners or Managers
  • Experience in roles such as Business Development Manager, Outside Sales Consultant, or similar
  • Experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), Veterinarian (DVM), or Practice Manager, with ability to connect with veterinary teams
  • Creativity, persistence, patience, and results-driven mindset
