Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Claims Counsel.

In this role, you will handle litigated claims specific to Cyber, Crime, D&O, E&O, EPL, and Environmental policies of low to moderate exposure and complexity within established limits of authority. You will follow protocols to ensure claims are managed efficiently and effectively while delivering customer-centric service.

What you will do

1. Review claim documents, investigate coverage, liability, and damages.
2. Draft correspondence regarding coverage, liability, and damages, communicating with insureds, brokers, and other stakeholders.
3. Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining relationships with customers, brokers, and external partners.
4. Ensure claim and file management comply with Zurich standards and regulatory frameworks.
5. Manage litigated files proactively with external counsel.
6. Develop strategies for claim resolution and ensure timely reserving.
7. Participate in mediations and settlement conferences.
8. Provide claims insights to support business units and collaborate with underwriters on trends and issues.
9. Maintain confidentiality of claims information to protect Zurich’s reputation.

Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table

Required:

• Juris Doctor with 3+ years of experience handling claims in the insurance industry or legal practice in insurance.

Additional skills include being detail-oriented, analytical, and possessing strong communication skills.
