Senior Manager, Corporate Compliance Advisory

Overview

Are you a compliance leader ready to make a significant impact? A leading global financial institution is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Compliance Advisor to join their Toronto office. This highly visible role is crucial in shaping compliance operations, driving regulatory strategy, and advising senior leadership in a dynamic environment. You will be at the forefront of regulatory governance in Canada, influencing business decisions with deep compliance insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead daily Corporate Compliance operations, including planning, change management, regulatory filings, and committee activities.
2. Oversee the Compliance Risk Management (CRM) Program, including policy development, risk assessments, control libraries, issue management, and reporting.
3. Interpret and apply regulatory changes related to laws such as the Bank Act, OSFI Guidelines, and Privacy Act.
4. Drive compliance projects related to regulatory change, controls, and CRM program improvements.
5. Provide compliance advisory and challenge to new business initiatives, ensuring regulatory alignment.
6. Manage compliance data governance, including metadata, tools, and reporting infrastructure.
7. Collaborate with senior leaders, legal teams, regulators, and stakeholders to develop and implement compliance strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; LLB/JD and Ontario Bar membership in good standing are strong assets.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in financial services compliance, preferably within a regulated institution, global bank, or consulting firm.
• Deep knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks, including OSFI, the Bank Act, and privacy laws.
• Experience in designing and managing enterprise compliance programs, policies, and reporting.
• Strong project management, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent communication and legal drafting abilities.
