Job Description

Note: This is an equity-based opportunity with compensation tied to future funding rounds. We're seeking a domain expert who shares our passion for revolutionizing this field through technology and is willing to commit to the long-term vision.

We seek a Legal & Insurance Domain Expert (Co-Founder) with deep expertise in Canadian/U.S. insurance law and regulatory frameworks in Life Insurance and Consumer P&C specifically. The ideal candidate isn't just knowledgeable - they're someone who lives this field, understands its nuances, and can translate that passion into actionable insights for technical development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance on insurance/legal frameworks and compliance requirements related to Life and P&C insurance
  • Analyze regulatory frameworks, case law, and industry standards (NAIC, OSFI, Insurance Act)
  • Collaborate on product strategy to ensure alignment with real-world domain needs
  • Establish quality benchmarks for domain-specific outputs and processes
  • Monitor evolving regulations and adapt strategies accordingly
  • Drive long-term vision for scaling domain-focused solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Law, Insurance, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years in insurance law, claims analysis, or regulatory compliance (Canada/U.S.)
  • Expertise in policy language, dispute resolution, and court/regulatory precedents
  • Familiarity with Canadian/U.S. consumer protection regulations
  • Ability to translate domain knowledge into actionable insights
  • Passion for building ventures from the ground up (equity-based role)
  • Experience working with technical teams (bonus, not required)
