Job summary

School District No. 74 (Gold Trail) invites applications for Teachers Teaching on Call to support public education for First Nations and about 1,000 students in Clinton, Cache Creek, Ashcroft, Lytton and Lillooet.

The successful candidate must hold BC teaching certification or be eligible, know the BC curriculum, use varied teaching strategies, integrate Indigenous culture, and foster positive learning environments with strong classroom management.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for BC teaching certification.
• Knowledge of the BC curriculum and competencies.
• Strong assessment practices for learning (assessment as/for learning).
• Experience integrating Indigenous culture into curriculum.
• Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Experience with experiential/inquiry learning.
• Proven ability to create a positive learning environment and strong classroom management.
• Collaborative team player.
• Experience using technology in the curriculum.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
