Job summary

Chilliwack School District is seeking highly skilled educators to join our Teachers Teaching on Call (TTOC) and Temporary Teacher pool. We welcome generalists and specialists for elementary, middle, and secondary levels with currency in BC curriculum and strong interpersonal skills.

Preference given to candidates who can teach in various settings and are available full-time. Salary is paid per day with relocation support for out-of-province moves, up to $2,000.

Qualifications

  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate and membership in the BC Teachers Regulation Branch.
  • Proven ability to teach a wide range of grade levels and subjects.
  • Strong knowledge of the BC curriculum; commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with students, staff and parents.
  • Ability to teach in diverse and inclusive settings with adaptive instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction across schools and settings as a TTOC or temporary teacher.
  • Implement the BC curriculum in an engaging, positive learning environment.

About the Position:

We are seeking highly skilled and dynamic educators to join our Teachers Teaching on Call (TTOC) and Temporary Teacher pool. Our TTOCs and temporary teachers enjoy working in a vibrant and growing district where employment opportunities for teachers are expected to continue into the future.

We invite applications from generalists and specialists elementary, middle, and secondary who can demonstrate currency of practice, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic, with proven knowledge of the BC curriculum. Specialists include French Immersion, Learning Assistance, Resource, and Secondary Subject experts.

Preference will be given to candidates who have the ability to teach in a wide variety of settings and who are available full-time.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality instruction across various schools and settings as a Teachers Teaching on Call or temporary teacher.
  • Implement the BC curriculum in a manner that engages students and fosters a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, students, and families to ensure the success and well-being of students.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners, supporting inclusive education principles.
  • Maintain professionalism and a strong work ethic while demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of each assignment.
Salary Range

$325.41 to $484.09 per day (depending on qualifications and experience)

Relocation Support

Successful applicants relocating from outside the province of British Columbia will be eligible for the reimbursement of relocation expenses to a maximum of $2,000.
