Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association in Vancouver Island North District is seeking a Teacher Teaching On Call (TTOC) commencing September 1, 2026. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Education and BC teacher certification or be eligible for it, with recent teaching experience and strong classroom management.

Qualifications

Completion of a Bachelor of Education degree.
Certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification.
Recent successful teaching experience.
Strong organizational and classroom management skills with the ability to motivate students and adjust instructional strategies.
Ability to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach to teaching and learning.
Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff and parents.
Strong interest in innovation and inquiry.
Strong formative assessment practices.
Preferred experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems.
Ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning.
Ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.
