Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a Dual Maintenance Technician (Mechanical & Electrical) for a heavy manufacturing facility in Concord, ON. This full-time, permanent role offers $46.00–$50.00 per hour with afternoon shift premium, straight shifts and a solid benefits package after probation.

You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain heavy production machinery, hydraulic presses (300–1200 tons), and PLC-controlled equipment while performing PMs and basic welding.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on dual mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Dual trade certification (433A Millwright / 442A or 309A Electrician) OR equivalent multi-skilled electro-mechanical expertise.
• Direct experience servicing mechanical/hydraulic presses, automated feed systems, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and hydraulic/pneumatic drawings.
• Physical stamina and capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy production machinery, automated assembly lines, high-tonnage mechanical/hydraulic presses (300 to 1,200 tons), and coil feed equipment.
• Perform mechanical overhauls, gearboxes/clutch rebuilds, component alignments, and hydraulic/pneumatic system diagnostics.
• Electrical troubleshooting on 480V/120V circuits, motors, drives, sensors, solenoids, and control panels.
• Basic PLC diagnostics (interpreting I/O status, error codes, and machine sequence faults to resolve line stoppages).
• Conduct preventive maintenance (PMs), emergency breakdown response, and machine shop work (MIG welding, fabrication, lathe/milling operations).

STRAIGHT Shifts Available: Straight Shifts

Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (OR)

Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and hydraulic/pneumatic drawings.
• Physical stamina and capability to handle heavy mechanical teardowns (ability to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably)
