United Way British Columbia is seeking a Specialist, Food Security to support community-based food security programs in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES). This role builds partnerships, coordinates Food Hub operations, and contributes to monitoring and reporting while engaging donors and volunteers.

The position is based in DTES with on-site work and a hybrid model, requiring travel within the region and strong community engagement skills.

Formación

• Experience engaging communities, knowledge mobilization, and community development.
• Experience working in the nonprofit sector and in food security.
• Familiarity with the DTES dynamics and its needs and strengths.
• Proven ability to engage stakeholders, implement programs, and build trust for impact.
• Ability to interpret program data and balance competing priorities.

Responsabilidades

• Build relationships with partners, service providers, donors, and volunteers.
• Support DTES Food Hub operations and program delivery within UWBC regions.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and timely reporting of data.
• Coordinate donor engagement and fundraising activities as required.
• Provide staff support to volunteers and events; perform related duties.
