Job summary

AMD in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking an experienced DSP engineer to shape tools and workflows for high-performance DSP on AMD silicon. You will collaborate with software, silicon planning, architecture, and field teams to map workloads across AI Engines, FPGAs, CPUs, and GPUs.

You will build prototypes, evaluate performance, and help customers adopt DSP technologies while influencing future product roadmaps. Travel up to 25% for customer events.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DSP algorithm development for high-performance hardware.
• Experience mapping DSP workloads to FPGAs, GPUs, DSP processors.
• Strong C/C++ programming and Python scripting skills.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture, memory movement, latency/throughput.
• Experience with parallel programming and dataflow graphs.
• FPGA concepts: RTL, event-driven simulation, or HLS.
• Experience with AMD/Xilinx tools (Versal, AI Engines, Zynq, Vitis, Vivado).
• Customer-facing experience and ability to influence product roadmaps.
• Excellent communication across global, cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive customer adoption of AMD signal-processing technologies across AI Engines, FPGAs, and embedded CPUs/GPUs.
• Architect DSP solutions with customers; compare approaches and resolve performance/power challenges.
• Build prototypes and demonstration designs to show high-performance DSP on AMD devices.
• Guide evolution of DSP software tools, libraries, IP, and development methodologies.
• Collaborate with software, silicon planning, architecture, and field teams to translate needs into roadmaps.
• Evaluate silicon/software capabilities and provide technically grounded recommendations.
• Create training materials, tutorials, and technical collateral for customers and field teams.
• Present advanced concepts to customers and internal stakeholders; engage in high-profile events.
• Travel up to 25% for customer events.
