Job description

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believetechnology has the power to solve the world’s most important challenges. From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMDis shapingthefuture.

Whetheryou’redesigning next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, orbringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger— technologythat moves the world forward.Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.

THE ROLE:

The Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Technical Marketing team drives product strategy, development methodologies, and customer adoption across AMD Adaptive SoCs, FPGAs, and embedded x86 devices. This role combines deep DSP and hardware expertise with customer engagement and product planning. You will work closely with software development, silicon planning and architecture, field teams, and customers to shape the tools, libraries, features, and workflows used to implement high-performance DSP systems on AMD silicon.

You will remain technically hands-on by building prototypes and example designs, evaluating performance, and helping customers map signal-processing workloads across AI Engines, programmable logic, CPUs, GPUs, and other accelerator technologies. At the same time, you will influence future product and tool roadmaps, guide customers through complex architecture decisions, and create the technical content that helps engineers successfully adopt AMD technologies.

THE PERSON:

You are an experienced DSP engineer who understands how algorithms map onto hardware and enjoys solving problems at the intersection of software, architecture, and customer applications. You can move comfortably between detailed technical analysis and higher-level discussions about system architecture, product direction, and customer value. You communicate complex ideas clearly, collaborate effectively across engineering and business teams, and are interested in broadening your impact beyond ownership of a single production design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Drive customer adoption of AMD signal-processing technologies, including AI Engines, programmable logic and DSP slices, embedded CPUs, GPUs, and hard silicon accelerators.
  • Partner with customers to architect DSP solutions, compare implementation approaches, and resolve performance, power, integration, and lab-debug challenges.
  • Build prototypes, demonstration vehicles, and example designs that show how to implement high-performance DSP applications on AMD devices.
  • Guide the evolution of DSP software tools, libraries, IP, features, and development methodologies across Adaptive SoC, FPGA, and embedded x86 product families.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, silicon planning, architecture, field teams, and marketing to translate customer needs into product and tool-roadmap priorities.
  • Evaluate proposed silicon and software capabilities and provide technically grounded recommendations that help shape AMD DSP strategy.
  • Create technical training, tutorials, user guides, presentations, and other collateral that enable customers and field teams.
  • Present advanced technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders and represent AMD in high-profile technical engagements.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time for customer events
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Hands-on experience developing and optimizing digital signal-processing algorithms for high-performance hardware platforms.
  • Experience mapping DSP workloads to FPGAs, GPUs, dedicated DSP processors, SIMD/vector processors, or other hardware accelerators.
  • Strong C/C++ programming and Python scripting skills.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture, microarchitecture, memory and data movement, latency, throughput, and performance tradeoffs.
  • Experience with parallel programming, dataflow graphs, fixed-point or floating-point implementation, and hardware/software partitioning.
  • Working knowledge of FPGA architecture and development concepts, including programmable logic, RTL, event-driven simulation, or HLS.
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx technologies such as Versal, AI Engines, Zynq, UltraScale+, Vitis, Vivado, or evaluation boards is highly desired; comparable Altera/Intel FPGA experience is also relevant.
  • Experience in wireless, telecommunications, radar, aerospace and defense, medical imaging, computer vision, or another high-performance DSP application domain.
  • Experience with GPU computing, VLIW architectures, DSP libraries, Jupyter Notebooks, or agentic AI development tools is a plus.
  • Experience working directly with customers, developing reference designs, delivering technical presentations, or influencing product roadmaps is highly valued.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex systems and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field is preferred.

LOCATION:

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. #LI-DR2
