Job summary

Labtician Ophthalmic, Inc. is seeking a Dry Eye Practice Specialist for Alberta/Saskatchewan, Calgary-based. This full-time, field-based role reports to the Sales Director and focuses on establishing a Dry Eye discipline within partner Optometry practices.

You will build local business plans, identify key accounts, and implement strategic plans to grow the Dry Eye portfolio while improving patient care and practice performance. Travel approx. 35% is required across Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. degree.
  • 3–5 years of practical experience in Sales/Marketing in Optometric, Ophthalmic, Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industries.
  • Experience and knowledge with establishing systems and processes within a practice.
  • Healthcare sales principles; direct-to-consumer experience beneficial but not required.
  • Understanding of Optometric, Ophthalmology, Lasik practice and healthcare delivery system.
  • Developing successful customer business plans.
  • Demonstrating top sales performance.
  • Flexibility for travel (~35%).

Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of Territory Business Plans, including identification of target accounts, based on corporate strategy.
  • Work closely with key staff to expand patient base and revenue through social media, e-commerce, patient conversion and improved patient experience to improve practice performance.
  • Drive top line sales of Labtician consumables, and therapeutic product portfolio.
  • Foster strong, consultative relationships with target accounts and associated staff.
  • Conduct practice audits and assessments for target accounts.
  • Work with target accounts to implement a comprehensive Dry Eye approach based on their needs including patient assessments/diagnostics, adoption of new treatment protocols and uptake of promoted products.
  • Conduct regular staff training on consumables and therapeutic products.
  • Assist practices in change management, practice development, practice efficiency, staff education, and the use of metrics to improve patient outcomes and practice viability.

Job Description

The Dry Eye Practice Specialist (DEPS) will partner with select Optometry practices to assist in the establishment and implementation of a Dry Eye discipline within those practices. This will include assisting practices in the development and implementation of best-in-class Dry Eye protocols, patient flow management, staff training and practice metrics. The DEPS will focus on enhancing clinical outcomes in Dry Eye patients while also helping the practice achieve their financial goals.

The DEPS will build local and regional business plans, develop a list of target key accounts, and implement strategic account plans to grow the Dry Eye business within those accounts. The successful candidate must have a strong background in practice and change management, interpersonal communication and consultative selling skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.A. or B.S. degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in the Sales and/or Marketing activities in the Optometric, Ophthalmic, Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry
  • Experience and knowledge with/in:
    • formulating and establishing systems and process within a practice
    • general sales/marketing principles and concepts within the healthcare environment, direct to consumer experience beneficial but not required,
    • inner working of an Optometric, Ophthalmology, Laser Vision practice and health care delivery system,
    • developing successful customer business plans
    • demonstrating top sales performance
  • Flexibility for travel is required (~ 35%)
