Job summary

Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited in Ontario is hiring a Delivery Driver/Yard Labourer for our Albion Quarry. The ideal candidate will deliver materials on-site in a triaxle and assist in the yard as needed, with Monday–Friday hours and occasional Saturdays; safety and reliable vehicle operation are essential.

Requirements include a DZ license, prior labour and driving experience (trailer a plus), knowledge of local roads, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comfort working in all weather.

Qualifications

• DZ license required for heavy vehicle operation.
• Labour experience preferred; driving with trailer is an asset.
• Knowledge of City and surrounding area roads.
• Ability to lift tools and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort working in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver internal materials to the cement plant and job sites.
• Communicate professionally with staff and team members.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Perform circle checks and follow CVOR regulations.
• Handle loading, transport, and delivery documentation accurately.
• Assist in yard operations as needed.

Overview:

Our team is growing; we are looking at hiring a Delivery Driver/Yard Labourer for our Albion Quarry. The Ideal candidate will be delivering products (sand, gravel, etc.) on site in a triaxle, and to job sites as needed, and also be required to assist in the yard when needed. This position is Monday-Friday (occasional saturday’s) and expected to be 8-10 hour days.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver internal materials to cement plant
• Communicates in a friendly professional manner with internal staff members
• Operates and maintains company vehicle safely and efficiently
• Follow all regulations for a CVOR vehicle, including a circle check
• Handles all physical requirements for loading, transporting, and driving without assistance
• Executes accurate and timely handling of delivery requests
• Prepares accurate paperwork and records

Requirements:

• DZ License
• Labour experience required and driving experience with a trailer would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of the City and surrounding area roads
• Must be able to lift tools that are 50 lbs. and above
• Must be comfortable with working in all weather conditions

Wage Range:

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $29.00 per hour and $31.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
