Job description

As a Driver Manager, you will be accountable for the overall productivity and performance of their assigned drivers and tractors. This will be accomplished through ongoing review of key performance indicators, followed by active participation in strategies to positively affect results. The Driver Manager is also expected to be a leader for the entire department by providing direction and support on a day to day basis. Specific Responsibilities include: Lead and retain a designated fleet of drivers as well as an assigned fleet of 60-75 tractors. Establish a good working relationship with each driver. Ensure that assigned fleet of tractors is utilized in the best interests of the company. In its basic form, this responsibility means maximizing the number of days per month that tractors are productive. Ensure that assigned drivers are meeting productivity targets. Ongoing management of driver performance outside of mileage and days of work, with a focus on company policy and procedures. Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers. Working on behalf of both the driver and the company to resolve any day to day or long-term issues in order to positively affect driver retention statistics.

  • Ability to maintain composure, effectiveness and flexibility under pressure will be key to your success in this position.
  • Strong ability to adapt to varying situations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

This position is subject to a Monday to Friday shift, standard hours of work.
