Job summary

RONA is hiring an Assistant Driver to support drivers during deliveries and assist with handling tasks. You will ensure a positive customer experience while maintaining safety standards across residential and commercial sites.

Ideal candidates are physically capable, have a secondary diploma, and can work outdoors in varying weather. This role involves lifting up to 23 kg and coordinating with carry-in crews, with opportunities for advancement within the company.

Qualifications

• Secondary 5 diploma is required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks up to 23 kg and work outdoors.
• Ability to work at remote job sites and assist with carry-in deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Transport and handle merchandise from truck to customer sites in line with service standards.
• Inspect loads prior to delivery and assist the driver with paperwork and maneuvers (e.g. reversing).
• Provide excellent customer service, including contacting customers prior to delivery.
• Participate in order preparation, truck filling and general maintenance.
• Work in accordance with health, safety and loss prevention policies.
• Partner with drivers and carry-in crews to coordinate deliveries of construction materials.

Become an important delivery partner! As an Assistant Driver, you'll support drivers during deliveries and help with handling tasks. With your commitment to customer service, you'll ensure an exceptional customer experience while meeting safety and performance standards.

Your role:

• Transport and handle merchandise from truck to customer sites in line with service standards

• Partner with drivers and carry-in crews to coordinate and execute carry-in deliveries of construction materials at residential and commercial job sites.

What we're looking for:

• Secondary 5 diploma and Full G driver's license (considered assets)
• Ability to perform physical tasks (up to 23 kg) and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to work at remote job sites and perform carry-in deliveries of building materials, including drywall, lumber, plywood, and other construction products.
• Ability to work in a truck on the move and provide effective support the driver
