Job summary

RONA is seeking an Assistant Driver to support delivery drivers and ensure an exceptional customer experience. The role emphasizes safe handling of merchandise, load inspections, and proactive communication with customers.

The position requires a Secondary 5 diploma and a Class 5 driving license (assets). Physical work outdoors and in a moving truck are expected as part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Secondary 5 diploma and Class 5 driver's license (considered assets).
• Ability to perform physical tasks (up to 23 kg) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work in a truck on the move and support the driver.

Responsibilities

• Transport and handle merchandise from truck to customer sites in line with service standards.
• Inspect loads prior to delivery and assist the driver in handling receipts, payments and maneuvers (e.g. reversing).
• Provide excellent customer service, including contacting customers prior to delivery.
• Participate in order preparation, truck filling and general department maintenance.
• Work in accordance with health, safety and loss prevention policies.
