Job summary

RONA in Canada is hiring an Assistant Driver to support deliveries and assist the driver with handling tasks. You will contribute to a safe, timely customer experience while following safety standards.

The role requires physical ability (up to 23 kg), outdoor work in various weather conditions, and the capacity to work in a truck on the move with the driver. Training and benefits are provided. A strong commitment to customer service and teamwork will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical tasks (up to 23 kg) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work in a truck on the move and provide effective support the driver.
• Class 5 driver's license is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Transport and handle merchandise from truck to customer sites in line with service standards
• Inspect loads prior to delivery and assist the driver in handling receipts, payments and maneuvers (e.g. reversing)
• Provide excellent customer service, including contacting customers prior to delivery
• Participate in order preparation, truck filling and general department maintenance
• Work in accordance with health, safety and loss prevention policies
