Job summary

Sienna Senior Living seeks a part-time Driver for Aspira Hazeldean Gardens Retirement Living in Ottawa. You will provide safe, reliable transportation, helping residents to participate in activities and stay independent, while contributing to a welcoming home environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid bus driving permit, and 1–2 years of driving experience, plus strong English communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Appropriate provincial bus driving permit.
• Clean Drivers Abstract.
• 1-2 years of experience as a driver.
• Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Experience in customer service.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada or valid work/study permit.
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.

Responsibilities

• Drive residents to scheduled activities and assist with getting on/off the bus and safety crossing.
• Maintain bus cleanliness and perform basic vehicle checks (fuel, fluids, tires, oil).
• Ensure timely arrivals and safe, courteous transportation for residents.
• Support the team to maintain continuity and quality of services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What makes you a great fit?

• Transporting residents to scheduled activities and assists residents when they are getting on or off the bus and when the bus is stopped to cross the street safely
• Observing the speed limit and road signs
• Ensuring the maintenance of the bus such as filling the gas tank and windshield washer fluid, checking tire pressure, checking the oil and the cleanliness of the bus
• Maintaining the internal cleanliness of the bus
• Carrying out, if needed, all related tasks in order to ensure the continuity and the quality of the services.
• Performing other duties as assigned

What You Need To Know

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Appropriate provincial driving permit for a bus
• Clean Drivers Abstract
• 1-2 years of experience as a driver
• Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills
• Experience in customer service
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
