Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Saanichton, BC is seeking a Moffett Driver to safely operate a commercial vehicle and transport building materials to customer job sites. Shifts are Monday to Friday, with compensation in the $20.77–$24.09 per hour range.

You will complete circle-checks, maintain vehicles, verify load security, and coordinate with dispatch while upholding safety rules and professional conduct on job sites and with customers.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license (DZ/AZ with a Moffet License) and a minimum of one year of experience using a Moffett.
• The driver must also have a clean drivers abstract.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Job description

Position Purpose:

The Moffett Driver is responsible for the safe operation of a commercial vehicle and the transportation of building materials and the placement on customer job sites. The shifts for this position will be Monday - Friday. Wage range is $32.00 - $35.25.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform circle-checks and complete logbook entries.


• Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and servicing. Verify load security and accuracy. Report all accidents or injuries. Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites.


• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.


• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed. Transport loads safely following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards. Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.


• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers. Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.


• Other duties as assigned by management.


• Basic Qualifications Valid driver's license (DZ/AZ with a Moffet License) and a minimum of one year of experience using a Moffett. The driver must also have a clean driver's abstract.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Sitting for long periods of time.


• Frequently climbing up and downstairs. Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
