Job summary

Crane Carrier (Canada) Limited is seeking a Driveline Technician responsible for rebuilding drivelines and grinding flywheels. The role requires hands-on assembly, inspection, and rework to meet specifications in a fast-paced shop environment.

The successful candidate will have driveline repair experience, the ability to lift heavy parts, and an ASE certification or equivalent. A valid license or CDL and owning essential tools are preferred, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

  • One year driveline repair experience in heavy-duty industry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • ASE certification or equivalent.
  • Own tools or willingness to purchase tools as you advance.
  • Valid driver’s license and/or CDL with good driving record.
  • Experience in customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble drivelines; wash parts, inspect parts and discard damaged parts.
  • Take micrometer measurement of flywheels; set grinder and regrind flywheel to specifications.
  • Prepare list of required replacement parts on work order.
  • Pull new parts from inventory and complete the appropriate paperwork.
  • Paint and label parts.
  • Reassemble, time and balance if required.
  • Tag units as required.
  • Place units in inventory or for customer pick up as required.
  • Submit work order for invoicing.
  • Clean work area as required and maintain equipment; Adhere to all environmental, health and safety standards.

Driveline Technician Responsibilities Include

Successful Driveline Technician Candidates Will Have
  • One year of driveline -- driveshaft repair technician experience within the heavy-duty industry
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs
  • Automotive Service Excellence certification appropriate to the job or equivalent
  • Possess your own tools and/or the willingness to purchase tools required for the job as you advance in your skill level and responsibilities (Crane Carrier (Canada) Limited offers a tool purchase or reimbursement program)
  • Valid driver's license and/or CDL with good driving record
  • Experience in Customer Service and handling phone systems

Physical Requirements
  • The work is active
  • Typically the associate will lift, pull and move heavy duty truck parts that might be in excess of 50 lbs
  • The associate will also have to do the following throughout the day: walking, bending, twisting, stepping, stooping, reaching, lifting, and pushing
Work Environment
  • While performing the primary duties of the job, the associate will be regularly exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, and noise and temperature variances
