Job summary

Badger Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a 310T Certified Technician to maintain diesel equipment and hydrovac operations. You will inspect, diagnose, perform preventive maintenance, correct deficiencies, and document work orders in Fleetio to ensure traceability and reliability.

This hands-on role requires strong safety discipline, ability to read technical manuals, and clear communication with the branch team.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Interprovincial Red Seal 310T certification.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Class B CDL license preferred.
  • Experience with Fleetio and digital record-keeping.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts safety checks on trucks.
  • Maintains clear communication with Branch Manager and Fleet Staff.
  • Keeps Fleet operating by following instructions and troubleshooting breakdowns.
  • Updates knowledge through training and publications.
  • Occasionally may perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards.

Job description

The 310T Certified Technician will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment and hydrovac operation by performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary adjustments and alignments. Corrects vehicle deficiencies and keeps accurate records with guidance and direction. Manages work orders in Fleetio to ensure comprehensive documentation and tracking. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diesel equipment, ultimately supporting the overall operational success of the organization.

$45.00 - $55.00 per hour and up based on experience with many opportunities for pay increases and career advancement!

Responsibilities
  • Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of assigned vehicles and equipment and preventative maintenance such as oil changes and greasing of trucks.
  • Conducts safety checks on trucks.
  • Maintains a clear line of communication to the Branch Manager and Regional Fleet Staff and other staff in the maintenance department.
  • Keeps the Fleet operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
  • Occasionally may perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Interprovincial Red Seal 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certification.
  • Class B CDL license is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle, G license required.
  • Some knowledge with electronic diagnostics.
  • Experience with Peterbilt and Western Star chassis a plus.
  • Experience with troubleshooting Hydrovac equipment a plus.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance, laws, rules, regulations, and safety is helpful.
  • Knowledge of transportation management system, a plus.
  • Computer literate: Fleetio, Microsoft, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to interpret work orders and technical manuals on paper and PC-based formats.
  • Proven experience in maintaining surplus inventory, stocking parts, and managing equipment supply orders.
  • Will be required to provide your own standard tools; all specialty tools will be provided.
  • Attention to detail and possess a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills both internally and with customers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, and reaching. Employees must also crawl under vehicles, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, stand or kneel on cement floors, and regularly lift or move heavy objects such as tires, rims, and brake drums.
  • Regularly required to lift or move objects weighing 25 to 50 lbs, with moderate grasping, lifting, pushing, and pulling of these objects.
