Job description

Our client, a midstream company, is seeking a Drafting Technician to work a 1-year contract in Calgary or Edmonton, AB.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain and update facility drawings, engineering documents, and vendor equipment information (OEM).
2. Assist facility personnel with document search, retrieval, and troubleshooting of archived information.
3. Demonstrated experience in piping design and drafting of piping isometrics for project and maintenance work.
4. Complete drawing reviews and provide feedback.
5. Liaise between the company and external vendors to ensure drafting and document control processes, procedures, standards, and best practices are followed.
6. Provide support for project closeouts, including redlines, drawing as-builts, and turnover.

Qualifications

1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology.
2. 5-10 years of experience in a similar role within an oil and gas facility environment.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
4. Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Office, and Adobe Professional.
5. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
6. Self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision.
7. Proven ability to perform successfully in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
