Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a drafter/designer in automation to join its engineering team. The role focuses on designing and laying out automated systems and low-voltage electrical layouts for projects of varying scales, with occasional client-site travel in Québec and across Canada.

This temporary position requires AutoCAD proficiency and strong English and French communication to collaborate with BBA offices and clients.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as an electrical or automation drafter/designer.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Advanced English and French language skills to collaborate across offices and clients.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Canada.
• Asset: ASP Construction card.

Responsibilities

• Participate in executing detailed engineering projects.
• Develop the design and layout of automated systems (control, instrumentation, motor control, etc.) for small to very large-scale projects.
• Develop the design and layout of low-voltage electrical systems.
• Participate in studies and draft technical specifications and estimates (manufacturing, construction, purchasing).
• Work closely with other BBA and client team members.
• Apply established work methods and improve them.
• Participate in project management (execution, costs, schedules).

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• DVS in industrial/building drafting
• DCS in electrical engineering
• Available to travel occasionally to client sites in Québec and the rest of Canada
• At least two years of experience as an electrical or automation drafter/designer
• Proficient with AutoCAD
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook and Excel)
• Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Asset: ASP Construction card
