Job summary

Park Hyatt Toronto is seeking a Door Attendant to welcome guests, open doors, hail taxis, and help with luggage in the lobby. You will maintain a tidy front drive and assist guests with hotel property and amenities.

The role requires a service-focused mindset, luxury-brand experience, a flexible schedule, excellent communication, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Service-focused personality is essential.
• Previous fine dining or luxury level service knowledge and training.
• Minimum 2 year previous work experience in a world-class luxury brand in a similar capacity.
• Must have a flexible schedule, be highly motivated and quality driven.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Constant walking & standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 50-lbs.
• Frequent lifting, crouching/bending/stooping/kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all guests entering and exiting the lobby, promptly and professionally.
• Assist with all guest luggage.
• Educate guests about hotel property and amenities, using the tools and training provided.
• Be knowledgeable of surrounding region, services and amenities, in order to handle concierge inquiries accurately.
• Manage the front drive efficiently and effectively and in line with established standards.
• Valet park vehicles in a safe manner and in line with established standards.
• Maintain the proper physical appearance of the front drive, entrance, and lobby, communicating with housekeeping and maintenance departments as required.
• Educate guests about hotel property and amenities.
• Maintain professional presence in the lobby area when between tasks.

About the Role – Door Attendant

Probationary Rate: $17.79

Hourly Rate: $22.24

Door Attendant and doorkeepers create a welcoming environment for hotel guests and facilitate their arrival or departure. This includes opening doors, hailing taxicabs, greeting guests and carrying their bags into the hotel. Door Attendant may also be responsible for keeping their work area tidy by sweeping and removing refuse.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all guests entering and exiting the lobby, promptly and professionally.
• Assist with all guest luggage.
• Educate guests about hotel property and amenities, using the tools and training provided.
• Be knowledgeable of surrounding region, services and amenities, in order to handle concierge inquiries accurately.
• Manage the front drive efficiently and effectively and in line with established standards.
• Valet park vehicles in a safe manner and in line with established standards.
• Maintain the proper physical appearance of the front drive, entrance, and lobby, communicating with housekeeping and maintenance departments as required.
• Educate guests about hotel property and amenities.
• Maintain professional presence in the lobby area when between tasks.
• Maintain the drive by clearing sidewalks and driveways of garbage, snow, gravel and any other debris.
• Perform other assigned comparable or transient duties that are within the domain of knowledge and skills required by the position description.
